BPay app is a pilot project developed, under the auspices of the Municipality, by Masabi company in partnership with STB SA, Unicredit and Mastercard Romania.

With BPay app, one can purchase transportation tickets using Mastercard or Visa credit or debit cards.

You can use the BPay app even if you have not purchased a transportation card and the transportation titles can be activated directly through the app, without validating inside the public transportation vehicles.

The app is rapid, efficient and safe regarding the storage of the information on the bank card and the personal data.

Where can I use my ticket/pass?
On public transport vehicles (bus/tram/trolley), belonging to Bucharest-Ilfov area (Bucharest and metropolitan area).

What kind of phone can I use?
The app runs on Android and iOS devices. For iPhone users, your operating system must be provided with iOS 8.0 or later, and for Android users your operating system must be running a 4.4 version or later.

Does it matter which mobile network am I using?
The application can be used on all mobile networks.

How do I purchase my ticket/passes?
: Install the app on your phone from Google Play or the App Store.
Using the app requires a Smartphone, Android or IOS with mobile data access and a bank card.
Next step is to personalize your app with your personal data and bank card details.
This application allows you to pay with your mobile phone by enrolling your bank card payments.
Once you have bought, you will find your tickets/passes in "My Travel Passes" section.


What kind of tickets/passes can I buy?
This app allows you to buy the following types of tickets:
- all types of full-rate transport passes;
- all types of urban, regional, express and tourist line tickets, with only one exception - the 10 tickets express pack.

What should I check before making a payment?
Users are asked to check the following, before making the payment:
- ticket type (urban, regional, express and tourist tickets) and the type of the full-rate transport passes;
- their quantity;
- validity (the start/end date).

How do I know the price of the tickets/passes before buying?
All the prices of the tickets/passes is clearly visible before the payment is made.
When purchasing tickets/passes, the user will receive a payment/transaction confirmation message.
Please note that once the transaction is confirmed, the travel title becomes valid.
The price you paid for the ticket/pass will be valid for the duration stated on it and any changes of tariffs, that happen during their availability, will not affect the ticket/pass that you have already purchased.
The products purchased through this application have the prices mentioned both in the application and on http://www.stbsa.ro at the date of the transaction. These are displayed automatically and are unchangeable after choosing the desired ticket/pass.

How do I pay for my transport ticket/passes?
Payment will be made only by debit or credit card.

Will you store my bank card details?
Data provided by customers are strictly confidential. The application administrator, implicitly STB SA, undertakes not to provide these data to a third parties or companies. Your personal data may be forwarded to law enforcement authorities for the purpose of verifying commercial transactions or other law enforcement authorities to perform any legitimate verification under the law conditions. The administrator of the application, implicitly STB SA, undertakes to respect your rights conferred by the U.E. Regulation no. 679/2016 and upon your request, submitted to the addresses indicated in the contact section of the application, undertakes to rectify, to update, to block, to delete or to transform them anonymously, free of charge. The administrator of the application, implicitly STB SA, certifies that it will respect the rights conferred by the U.E. Regulation no.679/2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, as well as by Law no. 365/2002 on electronic commerce. The information on bank card (card number, validity date, etc.) are processed in a secure environment according to security standard regarding card payments via e-commerce service.

When does my ticket/pass validity start?
The ticket/pass will be activated automatically after the payment confirmation (exception – the ticket for the tourist line).

What happens if I do not activate my ticket?
After the transaction is confirmed, the ticket/pass must be activated in order to generate the QR-code required for the ticket control team. The ticket/pass will expire after the validity period indicated even if it has not been activated.

What happens if I buy the wrong ticket/pass?
The application manager is not responsible for the errors in the choice of the tickets/passes or for the validity (start/end date) chosen by the users. After the purchase, the tickets/passes cannot be changed and are not refundable.

Can I buy the ticket/passes in advance?
The tickets/passes can’t be purchased in advance, except for tourist line ticket ( and only during the time period of the year when the turist line is set to work). This type of ticket (Bucharest City Tour tourist line ticket), must be activated within its validity period, before boarding.

When does the ticket/pass validity start?
Tickets/passes become automatically valid after the payment confirmation.
The Bucharest City Tour tourist line ticket, must be activated before boarding (choose the ticket and touch the Activation button).
In the section "My Travel Passes" you have access to the purchased tickets/passes.
Please make sure that the phone is sufficiently charged throughout the trip time duration, otherwise the transport company cannot be held liable if you do not have enough battery.

What do I have to do when I board into a means of transport?
You need to make sure that you have a ticket/pass and that it is clearly displayed on the phone screen. The ticket or the pass must be valid (start date/end date).

What happens if my phone battery is discharging?
Please make sure the phone is sufficiently charged during the entire journey, as the transport company cannot be held responsible if you do not have enough battery.
If you cannot prove the possession of a ticket displayed on your mobile phone screen, you are liable to a fine or must pay the ticket controller a surcharge amount. This amount will not be refunded.

Can more than one passenger travel on a single travel ticket?
No, only a single person can travel with one travel ticket.

Can I purchase tickets for several people with the same phone?
YES, but only trips. Multiple trips can be purchased for several persons on one line, but only if these persons travel together on the same journey.

What happens if I lose my phone, update my phone or change my phone number?
You can transfer your account to a new phone. The application is not dependent on the phone number or on the mobile operator. So, when changing the device, the user must install the Ticketing application, log in with his/hers account data, having again access to “My Travel Passes” account information, purchase history and other personal data stored in the account (if it was enrolled). If this fact happens more than three times, please contact us. Refunds are not possible.

How can I change my credit/debit card details?
You can update your bank card details in the account section of the app, or you can alternatively add a new bank card (debit or credit).

What should I present to the ticket controller of the transport company?
The passenger must present on the mobile application, the ticket / pass within the validity term and the QR-code generated after its activation.

Which penalties can be applied by the ticket controller?
The ticket controller can request a surcharge (payable on the spot) or draw up an official report for the later payment.

Do I have to present my ID card, to the ticket controllers, if I did not pay for the ticket/pass?
YES, in accordance to the laws and rules in force.

What happens if I refuse to present my ID card, to the ticket controller?
The ticket control team is legit to appeal to the police, local police and other legal authorities.

Do I get something in return for the surcharge?
YES, the passenger will receive a surcharge card completed on the reverse side by the controller with the date, line, time, his identification data and the identity data of the traveler only in case the identity document is presented.
This card will allow you to travel to the end of the line you are in.


Terms and conditions of use of STB BPay application

To use the STB BPay application (Bucharest Transport Company), you must agree to the following terms and conditions:
Using the STB BPay application implies full acceptance of the terms and conditions listed below. The terms and conditions may be changed at any time by the application administrator. We recommend reading these carefully. STB SA assumes the right to modify these provisions without further notice. This application is dedicated only to persons who do not benefit of fare discount.
Please ensure that your mobile phone has the required version of the operating system. You are responsible for all charges resulting from the use of your application to your mobile service provider.

1. Personal information
You agree that the provision of services or products starts immediately after all required registration formalities have been completed. Please provide true, accurate and complete data about you as required by the registration form. By accessing your account and using your personal password, you are fully responsible for all actions arising from the use of your account. STB SA may not be held responsible for errors resulting from user negligence regarding the security and confidentiality of ones account and password. If you provide inconsistent, inaccurate or incomplete information, the application administrator has the right to suspend or terminate your account and to refuse any current or future attempts to use the application.

2. Personal data security
Data provided by customers are strictly confidential. The application administrator, by default STB SA, bounds itself not to provide these data to a third parties or companies. Your personal data may be forwarded to law enforcement authorities for the purpose of verifying commercial transactions or other law enforcement authorities to perform any legitimate verification under the law conditions. Users are asked to check before making the payment, the following information regarding tickets/passes (urban, regional, express and turist) so there is no overlapping of validity.

     - regarding tickets: line, quantity and validity;
     - regarding passes: quantity and validity, line in the case of 1 and 2 lines passes. The administrator of the application, implicitly STB SA, is not responsible for the errors of choosing the ticket/pass by the users.

Tickets/passes are downloaded to your mobile device registered through the BPay application. An internet connection is required to activate tickets/passes. After your purchase, your tickets/passes cannot be changed and they are not refundable.
STB SA Tickets/passes become valid automatically, after the payment confirmation, and remain active in “My travel passes” section, till the end of validity period. After the transaction confirmation, the ticket/pass must be activated in order to generate the QR-code, necessary for the ticket control team belonging to the transport operator.
Please make sure before boarding the public transport vehicles that your phone has sufficient power, for the entire duration of your trip, as STB SA may not be held liable if you do not have sufficient power.
Tickets/passes are available through the application on your mobile phone – in My Travel Passes section.
Once you have purchased a ticket/pass, it will be delivered to your mobile phone.
Tickets sold through the application are usable for all surface public transport operators in the Bucharest - Ilfov area, only during periods and on the lines (urban, regional, express and tourist tickets) specified at the time of purchase.
The price you pay for tickets/passes will be valid for the duration stated on the ticket and any change of fee during the validity of the ticket will not affect the ticket you have already purchased.
Please allow time for the application to load for as long as you wait for the means of transport. If you cannot prove that you have a valid ticket, you are liable to a fine or pay the travel agent the amount of the travel surcharge on the spot.

4. Prices
The STB SA tickets/passes purchased through this application have the prices specified on • Tariff offer • on the date of the transaction. These are automatically displayed and remain unchanged after choosing the desired ticket/pass. At the moment of the purchase of the ticket/pass, the user will receive a payment/transaction confirmation message. Also, if you are a registred user, after purchaising, you will receive an email with purchase details ans payment info.

5. Litigation
The user accepts to use the application only on legal purposes. The user shall undertake:

       • will not modify, copy, distribute, broadcast, display, publish, reproduce, licens, create derived products, transfer or sell any information or services obtained from or through this application; it will not run and will not admit cracking or hacking. Users who violate the security of systems or networks may be prosecuted, according to the civil and criminal law.
       • any attempt to access another user's personal data or modify the content of the application or to affect the performance of the application server will be considered an attempt of fraud.
       • will not communicate any defamatory, offensive or in any other way unacceptable materials, regarding the website, application or services usage.
Any dispute arising out of usage of this application will be amiably settled. If the conflict cannot be solved by means of an amicable settlement, the competency is exclusive of the Romanian Low Court. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, the user completeness assumes all of these risks.
